This is quite a book!!
The story of the immigrants in the hostel, the background story to someone's divorce, the dreadful tribal warfare in the hostile areas, the suicide of a man caught up in an occurance he was unable to prevent through ignorance and cultural difference.
The selfish, material outlook of the europeans and the anguish of families torn apart through no fault of their own and the primitive reaction of the soldiers engaged in continuing battles for supremecy where compassion and tolerance are brushed aside and finally the brave, brave action of a young girl in order to save a childs life, although she knows it will mean death to her.
Awe inspiring.
