Guests this week were Maggie Perkovich and Lydia Birch. Lydia did a review of all of the Twilight series - she was dissappointed in the last one, felt it was 'a book too far' but had thoroughly enjoyed the rest. I threw down the gauntlet to her to read other vampire books out there such as Rachel Caine, Charlaine Harris, Lesley Sands, to compare to the Twilight stuff.
Maggie got serious this week and reviewed two books by the same author, Jacky Trevane. These books are about women marrying into other cultures and being subjected to physical & emotional abuse.
I read the blurb and thought what a boyfriend she had, to just go off drinking & leave her in Cairo, plus, what was she on? To meet and marry someone within weeks from a completely different culture and live in their country, as she did...........?
