This is quite a page turner!!! when Holly Barrett meets Jack Dane she falls rapidly and passionately in love.
Married in six weeks, he seems loving to her small daughter and gets on well with her grandfather, who is pleased she has foujnd a soul mate but Jack has a past. Arriving from England and settling in America and small town Massachusetts, he seems unwilling and unhappy to talk about his previous existence, except to confirm that, like Holly, both his parents are dead.
~As her grandfather and later on her best friend anna start to question his past and of necessity his part in it Holly fears they are trying to spoil her happiness but the truth starts to emerge and there is a strong possibility that Jack Dane is not the loving and kind man he appears to be.
Her little daughter Katy was conceived in a one night liaison by ac childhood sweetheart who then let her down, although he is now apologetic and wants to be part of their lives, Holly feels Jack Dane is the more reliable partner and shuts him out completely.
Billy, Katy's father is also concerned about the new partner and attempts to find out where he is from and what dark secret he is concealing.
When the facts finally emerge there is a tragic and compelling climax to the story.
Lots of questions need to be answered by the reader, it is very compelling and very, very readable.
