HOME TO ROOST by TESSA HAINSWORTH This is the third book Ms Hainsworth has writtern about relocating with her husband and two children from a high powered job in London to the South Cornish coast. They make the move, full of hopes of finding the goodlife away from city pressures and stress and indeed they fnd it, soon fitting into village life and never reretting the move for a second. But this idyll doesn't come cheap and in order to make ends meet,Tessa takes a job as postlady driving round a wide area to make sure everyone receives their letters parcels, etc. whatever the weather.
This story is rather reminiscent of All Creatures Great and Small - full of anecdotes about isolated villages, lonely people, some wonderful eccentrics, good friends and the glorioous Cornish landscape in all its moods.
Gentle, warm and fun, these books are very enjoyable - good escapist reads.
