Elie Wiesel - Night

book review written and read live on bookshow by Maggie Perkovich on 29th Jan 2015
This is yet another heart breaking story of a family torn apart
by the Germans as they entered Romania and removed all the Jewish Families and sent them to
Concentration camps. It started with rumours which many disbelieved until they were taken to live
in Ghettos, then sent on trains on which many died of thirst and overcrowding and the final destination
a concentration camp, first Auschwitz then Buchwald. There Elie sees his father beaten to death by
Guards, his mother and little sister taknen away to die in the gas Chambers. He suvives at thirteen
with memories of such horror that only by relating it can he begin to live again.
His one aim that no one should ever forget this inhumanity that took place now seventy years ago.
Searing and disturbing. Maggie Perkovic.
