guests today were Brian Lowen & Maggie Perkovic.
books reviewed were the Island by Victoria Hislop, Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, Night Fall by Nelson Demille. Also we talked about the winners of the Galaxy awards.
The Island is about a leprosy colony which existed in Greece. Brian mentioned that he had actually been to the island in the story called Spinalonga, whilst on holiday and that it was now a tourist spot to visit, they sell souvenirs, which I was slightly bemused about what kind of things could they sell (a toe, finger, skin scrapings??)
Time Travellers Wife has now been adapted for screen & is to be released in August 2009.
